Andre Rison will spend the weekend behind bars after being booked in Michigan to serve time tied to a second-offense impaired driving case.
The Oakland County Jail says the former wide receiver was booked into custody on Friday night and is scheduled for release Sunday.
Court records obtained show Rison pleaded guilty to a second-offense operating while intoxicated charge stemming from an August 2025 incident in Troy. Michigan. Records also show he posted a $5. 000 bond during the case. but that he still received a 5-day jail sentence and 18 months probation following a hearing this week. He owes more than $2. 300 in fines and fees related to the matter. and an additional charge of open intoxication in a motor vehicle was dismissed.
Rison’s attorney has been reached for comment, but no response has been received so far.
For Rison, 59, the moment is a sharp detour from football history. During a 12-year NFL career, he played for the Falcons, Browns, Jaguars, Packers, Chiefs, Raiders, and Colts. He earned five Pro Bowl selections and won a Super Bowl with Green Bay during the 1996 season.
His post-NFL life also kept him in the pop culture conversation, including a high-profile relationship with TLC rapper “Left Eye” — Lisa Lopes — and the infamous 1994 incident in which Lopes burned down his Atlanta mansion.
Now, though, the headline is the jail stint. With a Friday-night booking and a Sunday release date set, the case has taken center stage again, along with the consequences spelled out in court records: probation, jail time, and the unpaid fines and fees tied to the August 2025 stop in Troy.
