CINCINNATI − Tim McGraw is laughing off a hard fall that startled fans.
The country music star, 59, was left flailing mid-song when the heel of his right cowboy boot got wedged in a speaker crevice at his Aug. 27 show at Riverbend Music Center in Ohio. He landed forcefully on his back and bottom, but quickly sat up with a grin, his black cowboy hat still firmly in place, and carried on singing “I Like It, I Love It.”
McGraw shared the replay of the moment on Instagram along with audio from a popular internet meme that says, “Yep, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.”
McGraw captioned the post: “Cincinnati, you started our weekend off on the right foot even if I couldn’t stay on mine. We appreciate you coming out and singing along!”
His youngest daughter, Audrey, reacted in the comments: “Oh noooo,” she wrote with crying, laughing and heart emoji.
The show started about 40 minutes late, with the singer hustling on stage, clad in a mostly unbuttoned shirt and faded jeans, at about 9:40 p.m., apologizing for travel and weather delays. “I made it!” he said with relief as soon as he and his band started playing.
The three-time Grammy-winning singer made up for his late start, beginning the show with some acoustic songs and playing a rendition of “My Best Friend” requested by his wife Faith Hill, 58. He acknowledged he hadn’t played that one in a while, and the performance was accompanied by clips of the couple through the years.

The country music superstars have been married since 1996 and share three daughters: Gracie, 29, Maggie, 28 and Audrey, 24.
His Pawn Shop Guitar tour runs through Sept. 26 with next stops in Colorado and Texas, followed by October and November dates in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
