‘The Batman Part II’ casts spark fresh villain guesses

The Batman – After Matt Reeves confirmed who’s returning and who’s joining his sequel, speculation has shifted—particularly around Sebastian Stan. A new report suggests Stan may be playing Victor Zsasz instead of Two-Face/Harvey Dent, while Brian Tyree Henry is believed to
The most telling part of “The Batman Part II” right now isn’t a trailer or even a scene—it’s a handful of names Reeves has allowed into the daylight, and the way fans can’t stop fitting them into the wrong-shaped puzzle.
Reeves and co-writer Matt Reeves shared a proof-of-life photo on social media last year. and most of the world has only seen one page of the sequel’s existence. Even so. speculation has surged—especially about which new cast additions might point to what Robert Pattinson’s Batman is about to face in his second outing.
Last month. Reeves returned to social media again. this time to confirm the faces audiences will be seeing in the sequel. The returning cast includes Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Gil Perez-Abraham, and Jayme Lawson. So far, there has been nothing shared about Barry Keoghan.
The newcomers, listed by Reeves, are Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, Brian Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch. Reeves has not provided details about the new characters, and that silence has been enough for rumors to move in.
A new report from InSneider says Stan may not be playing Two-Face/Harvey Dent—an assumption that many people had previously leaned on. Jeff Sneider writes that Stan is believed to portray Victor Zsasz, described as “a serial killer … who sets out to ‘free’ people who no longer value their lives.”
But Sneider’s claim doesn’t come with an easy answer about Harvey Dent’s absence. According to Sneider, Henry has been cast as the Gotham City district attorney who breaks bad. Sneider also writes that Henry won’t be the first Black actor to play Dent in live-action. pointing out that Billy Dee Williams played the character in Tim Burton’s 1989 movie Batman.
So far, there’s no word on who Charles Dance or Scarlett Johansson might be playing, either—only the broader sense that as production ramps up, more information will arrive, or at least more noise will.
For now, the sequel’s destination is clear even if its route keeps changing: “The Batman Part II” is set to arrive on October 1, 2027. io9 has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment and said it will update the post if it hears back.
The Batman Part II Matt Reeves Robert Pattinson Sebastian Stan Victor Zsasz Two-Face Harvey Dent Brian Tyree Henry Scarlett Johansson Charles Dance Sebastian Koch Barry Keoghan Jeffrey Wright Andy Serkis Colin Farrell Gil Perez-Abraham Jayme Lawson October 1 2027
If Sebastian Stan isn’t Two-Face then who cares tbh. They shoulda just made it Harvey Dent and done.
I saw Scarlett Johansson and immediately thought it’s gonna be Catwoman or something. But the article says no info yet?? So like what are we even supposed to guess.
Wait Henry as the DA?? Isn’t that basically Two-Face’s whole thing? So if Stan is Zsasz and Henry is the DA then… Dent is just missing for no reason? Also I swear I read somewhere Barry Keoghan is in it so where is he then.
The “Victor Zsasz” rumor sounds fake like whoever wrote it just googled serial killer Batman villains. October 1 2027 feels so far away though, unless they’re gonna keep re-casting people every month.
