Teyana Taylor is bringing her creative conviction to the 25th Tribeca Festival, and it’s not just a speaking gig—it’s a moment built around women shaping the stories they want to tell.
Taylor will take the stage for a talk presented by Through Her Lens: The Tribeca CHANEL Women’s Filmmaker Program as part of Tribeca’s Storytellers Series on Sunday. So she’s doing like a talk about “space” at Tribeca? Like outer space or what lol.
I didn’t even realize CHANEL was doing filmmaking stuff now. Good for her I guess, women support blah blah. But I feel like it’s also kinda PR for the festival.
Wait, she’s on some committee with Tribeca and CHANEL, but it’s also “Through Her Lens” like the same thing as the film grants thing? Idk man the article is all over the place. Still, mentoring sounds good, just wish they’d say how many people actually get funding or chances instead of just vibes.
This is honestly the kind of stuff we need more of, like giving women confidence and a real platform. But if it’s at Spring Studios in NYC that’s kinda inaccessible for regular folks, so I’m confused how “support” works outside Manhattan. Also “bold, honest stories” sounds great but I swear every brand says the same exact line. Either way, love Teyana Taylor so I’ll watch clips.
