Texas releases evidence video showing Karmelo Anthony after stabbing

Texas releases – A Texas court released crime scene photos and video evidence from Karmelo Anthony’s murder trial, including enhanced security footage showing moments before and after Austin Metcalf was stabbed during a high school track meet in Frisco.
By the time the court uploaded the new materials, the timeline was already locked in for Karmelo Anthony—just less than two weeks after a jury convicted him of murder.
On Friday. the 296th District Court in Texas made public evidence used in Anthony’s trial. including graphic crime scene images from the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. The release comes shortly after Anthony. 19. was sentenced to 35 years in prison on June 9. after jurors rejected his claim that he acted in self-defense.
The newly released materials include crime scene photographs. police body-camera footage. 911 recordings. and images of evidence presented to jurors during the trial. Among them is enhanced security camera video capturing moments before and after Anthony stabbed Metcalf. A portion of the footage shows Anthony running away from the scene before his arrest.
In one clip, Anthony is shown shortly after he is handcuffed at the scene. As an officer approaches him, the officer refers to him as the alleged suspect. Anthony responds, saying, “I’m not alleged. I did it.”
In another part of the video, Anthony appears to sound as if he is sobbing. He tells officers, “He put his hands on me. I told him not to. He put his hands on me,” as he is escorted away from the scene.
Several of the crime scene photos included in the release show graphic depictions of Metcalf’s fatal wound, along with blood-stained clothing. Prosecutors also identified the knife shown in the evidence as the murder weapon.
The case traces back to an April 2025 confrontation between Anthony and Metcalf under a team tent during a weather delay at a high school track meet in Frisco. Prosecutors argued Anthony initiated the violence and stabbed Metcalf to death. Defense attorneys countered that Anthony feared for his safety and acted in self-defense.
The sequence of what the jury was asked to decide is now laid out again through the newly released footage and photos—what happened under the tent during the weather delay. how Anthony left the scene. and what he said moments after being handcuffed—forcing the same question back into focus: whether the stabbing was an act of defense or an attack prosecutors say it was.
