The messages were inappropriate, and once police learned about them, the case moved quickly. On Thursday. June 4. the Wylie Police Department arrested Zachary Neu. a school administrator in north Texas. after investigators said he allegedly discussed a sexual exchange with a former student who had recently graduated.

The department said Neu, 32, offered to purchase alcohol for the minor and send money for lingerie in exchange for sexual conduct. The allegation came from information police received after he sent what the department described as inappropriate messages to the former student.

After the arrest, investigators obtained and executed a search warrant on Neu’s personal devices. The police department added that investigators have since identified a second victim.

Neu was working as an administrator at Wylie East High School in north Texas at the time of the incident. He was immediately fired from the school following his arrest.

Wylie Independent School District Superintendent Kim Spicer addressed the news in a letter to parents, later shared by Wylie News. Spicer wrote that educators “hold positions of authority and are entrusted with tremendous responsibility. ” and said adults are expected to maintain appropriate boundaries and relationships with students.

She also stressed that “under no circumstances should a district employee engage in private communication with a student through personal social media or other unofficial channels.” Spicer thanked the victim and their family for reporting their concerns to law enforcement. writing that speaking up when something feels wrong takes courage and helped allow the matter to be investigated quickly.

Neu’s employment timeline added another layer to the case: the district said he was hired in 2017 as a science teacher. He was promoted to dean of students in July 2024 before becoming an assistant principal in January.

As of Friday, June 5, Neu remained in custody. It is not currently clear whether he has entered a plea or retained legal counsel, and the Wylie Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In its press release. the Wylie Police Department thanked the Wylie ISD for its “cooperation during this investigation as the safety of our students are the top priority.” The department also asked anyone with concerns about interactions with Neu to contact the Wylie Police Department as the investigation continues.   1. This is why schools need to stop letting people use personal socials. Like even if he wasn’t teaching, he still had access.

  2. Wait I thought he was arrested for just inappropriate messages, not like a whole exchange. But police are saying alcohol and lingerie so… yeah that’s way worse than I expected. Also they fired him immediately which feels like the only right move.

  3. I saw another post about this and it said something about “second victim” already which is wild. Like how do they even verify that part, ya know? And the superintendent letter is basically copy/paste like every school district says, but I mean, it’s still true. The dude is 32 too… shouldn’t be anywhere near students, period.
