The Detroit Lions moved quickly Monday, releasing cornerback Terrion Arnold as his legal case surged forward.
Arnold was out of jail by Tuesday afternoon. He posted a $1 million bond and left the Hillsborough County (Florida) jail at 3:09 p.m. ET.
Hillsborough County Judge Christopher Sabella granted Arnold’s request for release from custody pending trial on multiple felony charges arising from an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping. Under the terms of his release. Arnold will be confined to his home but will not have to wear an ankle monitor.
The state attorney’s office is not letting the matter settle. It has filed another motion seeking to have Arnold wear the GPS monitor now that he is no longer employed. A hearing on that motion is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Arnold’s attorney, Timothy Jansen, filed a request for Arnold to appear via video for that hearing because he will be out of state.
Arnold, 23, was arrested last week on felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping after turning himself in Wednesday night. The case includes four counts—each with kidnapping and armed robbery charges—carrying the possibility of a life sentence if Arnold is convicted.
The timing is tight: Arnold’s home confinement begins immediately, but the question of whether his monitoring requirements will change is headed back to court next week. For now, he is free on bond and awaiting trial, while prosecutors press to add GPS monitoring as the legal process continues.
