For days, she’d been reaching for the tablet that looks almost like paper—then walking right back to her iPad or Kindle. Until the TCL Nxtpaper 11 Plus finally stuck.

Right now, the tablet is available on Amazon for $259, thanks to a 30% deal still running into the July 4th weekend. Its original price was $370, making the discount worth $110. The price is also a bit higher than the original Prime Day price of $224.

As a tablet, the TCL Nxtpaper 11 Plus is pitched as a serious alternative to devices that cost much more. It ships with a stylus and a flip case, and it centers its whole experience on TCL’s Nxtpaper technology. The 11.5-inch display can switch from full color to an E-Ink-like screen using a shortcut. The idea is simple: move from streaming or playing like you would on any tablet. then flip into an e-reader mode with a black-and-white or color “paper look.”.

Beyond the switchable display, the tablet’s screen is built for smooth motion and sharp detail with a 2.2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The setup is also designed to be easy on the eyes, with a paper-like look meant to reduce eye strain.

The Nxtpaper 11 Plus has also earned a spot in day-to-day routines because it doesn’t feel fragile or fussy in the moments you actually use it. The quad speakers help it stand up as an entertainment tablet. and the reviewer describes using it to stream while working with her hands—then picking it up again right after to read before bed.

Battery life is another reason it keeps getting pulled back into the rotation. The tablet uses an 8,000 mAh battery that lasts almost all day.

Under the hood, the TCL Nxtpaper 11 Plus includes 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. An MTK Helio G100 octa-core processor powers it. and the performance is described as steady enough that it doesn’t randomly crash or slow down. The reviewer also notes that buggy performance is common on more affordable Android tablets. but she hasn’t experienced that over months of use.

That’s the heart of the pitch behind the discount: at $259, the Nxtpaper 11 Plus is framed as a versatile tablet worth buying, even if it isn’t an all-time low. The deal is rated 3.5 out of 5, with $259 positioned as the moment where the tablet’s value lands best.

Deals can sell out or expire at any time. ZDNET says its team continues checking and updating availability on ZDNET.com, and it notes it’s sorry if readers miss the window—because new chances to save can still appear.

ZDNET also explains its deal-rating system. including an approach built around percentage-off savings and a sliding scale based on expertise and factors such as brand or product recognition. The outlet says its editor’s deal rating badges are attached to most deal content to help readers understand how the value is judged.

  1. 120Hz and “paper look” sounds like it’ll fool my eyes lol. Also isn’t e-ink usually super slow? But maybe this one’s different.

  2. Prime Day was $224 right? So why would it drop again like this, sounds like they’re just changing the starting price. $370 list price feels fake.

  3. I keep seeing these “looks like paper” tablets and I still end up back on my Kindle because the battery and reading just hits different. Flip case + stylus is cool though… 2.2K 120Hz doesn’t mean anything if the app experience is trash. Like does it support Libby/Kindle or whatever without issues?
