Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s wedding ‘was amazing’ for Russell Wilson

Taylor Swift’s music is no longer available on several videos posted by President Donald Trump’s Team Trump TikTok page.
An Aug. 3 edited video showing the president and first lady Melania Trump watching fireworks featured text reading “mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president” while the caption read “I’m sure @Taylor Swift is going to be super excited we used her song! #taylorswift #maga #august.” The video originally included her hit 2020 track “August,” off the superstar singer’s “Folklore” album, but no sound is available now.
The comments celebrated the removal of the music, writing “TAYLOR REMOVING THE AUDIO QUEEEEEEN,” while another reads, “Sorry, what was that? cant hear the song.”
Several videos that featured Swift songs on the Team Trump TikTok account now have no audio, including one from November that used her “Life of a Showgirl” track “Father Figure” while honoring the president in a video montage.
USA TODAY has reached out to the White House and Swift’s representatives for comment.
Trump page says Taylor Swift wrote ‘Red’ about Republicans
Another Team Trump video to lose its audio was one from Aug. 6 where the page quips that the Grammy-winning artist wrote her fourth studio album “Red” about Republicans. The video, now soundless, displays artwork imitating the “Red” album cover but with Trump wearing a red MAGA hat with the text “Red (Donald Trump’s version).”
“Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party?” the video asks.
Swift previously endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic frontrunner against Trump, ahead of the 2024 presidential election. Days later, Trump declared on TruthSocial, “I hate Taylor Swift,” and in May 2025, the president declared that “she’s no longer HOT” since he said he hated her.
However, following the singer-songwriter’s engagement to now-husband Travis Kelce in August 2025, Trump said, “Well, I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player, a great guy. I think she’s a terrific person” in a Cabinet meeting when asked by a reporter.
Several pop stars have condemned White House over song use
The White House has seemingly leaned into rage-baiting musicians who have not endorsed the Trump administration by playing their music on social media, prompting several artists to clap back publicly.
A July 23 video showing U.S. military strikes in Iran shared by the White House’s official TikTok page featured Katy Perry’s 2010 track “Firework.” The pop star said she was “deeply appalled and angry,” clarifying that she “did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.”
“I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for,” she wrote in a July 25 post on X. “My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.”
Ariana Grande commented under a June 9 TikTok video posted by the White House depicting federal agents arresting and handcuffing people while featuring her 2024 song “Bye,” according to reports by Reuters and The Guardian.
“Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense,” she wrote. The audio and Grande’s comment were later removed.
Kesha, Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan and Sabrina Carpenter have also slammed the White House’s use of their songs for different videos without their permission.
In response to Kahan condemning the account’s use of his music, the page posted a July 31 video with text reading “And for that reason we will be posting Noah Kahan music.”
