Breezy skies over southern Wisconsin could flip quickly into something more dangerous—starting late Friday afternoon and stretching through Tuesday—prompting First Alert warnings for the next several days.

Tonight is the first First Alert Day. with severe storms possible as a complex of thunderstorms moves across southern Wisconsin from Friday evening into early Saturday morning.. Large hail and damaging winds are the main concerns. and the strongest storms are expected west of Madison before they gradually weaken as they track east overnight.

Friday afternoon itself sets the stage: south winds will be breezy, gusting around 30 mph, while skies stay sunny and temperatures rise into the upper 70s to lower 80s.

By Saturday, there’s a brief pause. Partly sunny skies are expected, and temperatures climb into the lower 80s. Dew points are projected to sit in the mid-50s, keeping humidity more comfortable—but that calm may not last.

Another round of storms could develop Saturday evening, especially along and south of Interstate 90. From there, attention shifts to two more First Alert Days, when the severe threat returns in a more organized way.

Sunday brings another First Alert Day as a warm front lifts northward.. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to form during the afternoon and evening hours, and they could turn severe.. Hail and damaging winds remain the primary threats as warm. humid air and strong wind shear combine to create favorable conditions for storm development.

Monday is expected to be the most significant severe weather day of the period.. A strong weather system moving through the region will bring another round of storms during the afternoon and evening.. The exact timing remains uncertain. but conditions are expected to support severe thunderstorms capable of large hail. damaging winds. and heavy rainfall.

With multiple rounds of storms expected, heavy rainfall is also on the table. Some areas could see significant rain totals, particularly Sunday through Tuesday.

The pattern starts to ease on Tuesday, when a cold front finally pushes through southern Wisconsin, bringing one last chance for storms before cooler, drier air returns on Wednesday. Temperatures drop back to more comfortable levels to close out the week.

For now, meteorologists are urging residents to stay weather aware and make sure they have multiple ways to receive warnings over the next several days.
