Steven Tyler Seeks New Questioning Before Teen Abuse Trial

Steven Tyler is asking a judge for permission to question his teen abuse accuser again before trial, arguing newly disclosed details about her marriage counseling and a separate emotional-issue could be tied to the trauma she says she suffered for decades. Her

Steven Tyler is trying to pull one more thread before his case goes to trial.

Tyler’s legal team is seeking another round of questioning of Julia Holcomb—who now uses the name Julia Misley—along with her husband. before the two sides square off later this summer. The request is tied to newly disclosed information that Tyler says points to a possible alternative source for the emotional trauma Holcomb says she has carried for decades.

In newly filed court papers obtained by TMZ. Tyler’s lawyers say Holcomb recently revealed a separate issue in her life that led her and her husband to pursue marriage counseling. Tyler argues he only learned about this earlier this year. The filing also says Holcomb, now identified as Julia Misley, disclosed she had recently started seeing a therapist.

Tyler’s team says this material could matter to the scope of Holcomb’s claimed emotional distress. The court record also references that the couple previously testified their counseling stemmed from issues tied to Tyler and from public accounts of the relationship in books about Aerosmith.

Holcomb’s side is pushing back hard. In an opposition filing. her lawyers describe Tyler’s bid as an invasive “fishing expedition.” They argue the request is designed to force testimony about deeply private matters involving her marriage and counseling sessions. Her team also says the effort is improper and harassing. intended to intimidate both Holcomb and her husband as the case approaches trial.

The opposition filing also targets Tyler’s conduct during earlier stages of the case. Holcomb’s lawyers accuse Tyler’s team of making inappropriate remarks during prior depositions and of engaging in behavior that crossed the line with witnesses and opposing counsel.

The push for additional questioning comes after a major courtroom setback for Tyler’s accuser. As TMZ previously reported. in April a judge dismissed nearly all of Holcomb’s claims against Tyler. leaving only a narrow emotional distress claim tied to alleged conduct in California. Holcomb alleges she was sexually abused by Tyler when she was a teenager in the 1970s. while Tyler has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Now, a judge will decide whether Tyler gets another chance to question Holcomb and her husband before the trial later this summer.

  1. Wait the judge dismissed nearly all her claims but she still has an emotional distress one? So is this basically just lawyer arguing about therapy now??

  2. Julia Holcomb / Julia Misley… like why the name change matters is beyond me. They’re saying marriage counseling is an alternate source for trauma but trauma from the past is still trauma, right? Also TMZ always makes it sound like he’s the victim in these.

  3. Invasive fishing expedition?? This is so messy. I read something where it said books about Aerosmith were involved, and now it’s therapy and a husband too. Feels like he’s trying to drown her in details so nobody believes her, but also like… why would they do marriage counseling if it was about him? Idk, whole thing is gross.
