Two British tourists arrested in Mallorca over assaults

The police in Sant Llorenç were called to two incidents of physical assault involving British tourists in the early hours of Sunday morning. They happened about an hour apart. The first was in Sa Coma. The police went a hotel room after receiving a report of a loud argument. Officers found a woman with bloodstains and various injuries. She had previously managed to leave the room and seek help. Other guests went to her assistance and reception called the police. As well as the assault,
some of her personal belongings had been damaged. A 51-year-old British man was arrested. The second incident was in S’Illot. Officers responded to a call from a hotel and found a 38-year-old woman on the beach. She was visibly distressed and had injuries consistent with physical assault. The woman had to be taken to Manacor Hospital for evaluation due to the possibility of serious injury. A 37-year-old British man was arrested.
