RIP. I swear I saw him on TV like a million times back in the day.
I didn’t know he was 81, feels way younger. Motorsport TV icon?? Sounds like he did a lot of stuff but I only remember him from that A Current Affair thing.
Wait so he “helped the birth of 2WS”?? Like he started a radio station or something? I read that and I’m confused because I thought 2WS was way older. Either way, sad news.
Man, I remember the Steve Raymond Show vibe, it was always about speed and cars and everyone acting like they knew what they were talking about. Walkley Awards and Logies doesn’t surprise me, he was everywhere. Also Channel 10, Nine, radio in the 60s… sounds like one long blur. Hope his wife and daughter are doing okay, though I don’t even know how you recover from this kind of thing.
