Steam Summer Sale 2026 runs June 25 to July 9

Steam Summer – Steam’s Summer Sale 2026 went live on 25 June and runs through 9 July 2026. Discounts stay active for the full two-week period, while participating titles typically sit around 45% off—alongside deeper cuts of up to 90% on older games.
By mid-morning on 25 June, the Steam client already felt different—less like a library of backlogs and more like a door opening. Steam’s Summer Sale 2026 is live now at store.steampowered.com, running through to 9 July 2026.
This year, the structure stays familiar. Discounts are active for the full two-week duration rather than rotating daily, so there isn’t a “day one advantage” beyond the simple risk of missing out on limited regional key stock. If you buy on day thirteen, the sale still meets you where you are.
The timing is catching players right when the lineup is starting to warm up. Several major releases from earlier this year—Gothic 1 Remake. Resident Evil Requiem. and Crimson Desert—are eligible for their first significant discounts. The sale also draws from a broader catalogue of games released in 2024 and 2025. including titles that launched at full price and are now available for players who held off.
Across participating titles, average discounts sit around 45 per cent. The most common discount tiers land at 50, 57, and 75 per cent off. Older catalogue titles can go deeper, with cuts reaching up to 90 per cent.
Valve doesn’t release official figures for how many games are involved ahead of time, but recent Summer Sales have featured upwards of 4,000 discounted titles.
There’s a practical reason players are treating this sale like more than a bargain break. It arrives as a quiet prelude to what’s next for PC gaming: Halo: Campaign Evolved lands on 28 July with early access from 23 July. The Blood of Dawnwalker arrives on 3 September. and Gears of War E-Day follows on 6 October. The release calendar stretches even further on consoles. with Grand Theft Auto 6 arriving on 19 November—but there’s no confirmed PC date yet.
The chain of choices for many players is simple: the sale helps fill the gaps before those dates. and it does so with discounts that remain available all the way until 9 July. For anyone trying to stretch a backlog without gambling on timing. that consistency may be the real deal—buy when you’re ready. not when the clock says you must.
