St Helens crush Huddersfield to end winless run 38-6

St Helens took out their Betfred Super League frustrations on struggling Huddersfield as they ended a three-match winless run with a 38-6 rout on Sunday. Two quickfire tries from Curtis Sironen opened the scoring midway through the first half before Nene MacDonald made it comfortable at the break. Although Cole Geyer got one back for Huddersfield, Alex Walmsley soon replied and a late brace from Jake Davies followed a Harry Robertson try as Saints ran up the score. MacDonald, making his first appearance since the start of May following injury, then got involved as Jackson Hastings picked him out to score the third in the 32nd minute.
The Giants got on the board just before the hour as Geyer charged over at the end of a period of sustained pressure, but it was only a temporary reprieve as Saints turned up the heat. Walmsley bulldozed his way through the defence moments later, and with 10 minutes to go Huddersfield allowed a high kick from Hastings to bounce, with Robertson scooping it up to go under the posts. Davies then took over, charging down the wing for his first try and then spinning
away from a defender to grab his second two minutes from time. 2026 Super League – key dates and what to look out for Magic Weekend: July 4-July 5Rivals Round reversed: July 23-July 26Elimination Play-offs: September 19-September 20Play-off semi-finals: September 26-September 27Grand Final: October 3, Old Trafford Sky Sports will again show every game of the Super League live this season – including two matches in each round exclusively live, with the remaining five matches each week shown on Sky Sports

38-6 is wild, St Helens really said “nope” to Huddersfield.
I didn’t even know Huddersfield was struggling like that, thought they were decent? Anyway, Curtis Sironen sounds like a video game character. Also who’s the guy with the high kick that “bounced”??
Wait so this was rugby right? I saw “Super League” and figured it was soccer (my bad). But if they ended a winless run then good for Saints, still kinda confused why the other team only scored once before the hour.
The whole “high kick to bounce with Robertson scooping it up” part… sounds like some Madden play lol. But tbh I’m surprised the score got that high, Huddersfield shouldn’t let Saints run up the score like that. Also MacDonald coming back from injury and suddenly it’s 38-6 like that’s automatic, right? Maybe refs were on Saints side or something.
