OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs started the Western Conference finals with a win in Oklahoma City, then ended the series the same way. The champions are dethroned. Wembanyama and the Spurs are headed to the NBA Finals. Wembanyama scored 22 points, Julian Champagnie got 18 of his 20 off of 3-pointers and the Spurs beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 on Saturday night — bucking heavy odds to win a Game 7 on the road. points and De’Aaron Fox had 15. Dylan Harper added 12 and Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell each finished with 11 for the Spurs, who are headed to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014. They will host the New York Knicks in Game 1 on Wednesday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 35 points, but for the eighth consecutive season the NBA will have a new champion.

I didn’t think the Spurs could pull that off, like Game 7 on the road?? But Wemby always has that “I’m unstoppable” vibe. Congrats to them I guess. Also Shai scoring 35 and still losing is just brutal.
Not gonna lie, I thought Thunder were gonna steamroll them. 35 points tho like cmon man, what happened on defense? And Champagnie 20 off 3s sounds fake, like how does that even work, did he just hit all of them in the 4th? Anyway Knicks in the Finals is… random???
So the Spurs are champs now? I thought OKC was supposed to be the team this year. ESPN said something different earlier, maybe it’s like “champions are dethroned” like switching titles lol. Also why is it saying finals for first time since 2014 like that means everyone forgot them? Anyway I hope Knicks win Game 1 because Wembanyama looks too tall for my comfort.
