A heat advisory is in effect across much of South Florida today, with widespread major heat risk expected for “all urban areas.”
That’s according to the National Weather Service office Miami. Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties are all under the advisory, which will last from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 10.
Maximum heat indices will range from 105 to 110 degrees each afternoon “through at least the middle of this week” in South Florida, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s.

Miami: A high near 90 degrees, with heat index values as high as 106 degrees.
Fort Lauderdale: A high near 91 degrees, with heat index values as high as 108 degrees.
West Palm Beach: A high near 88, with heat index values as high as 103 degrees.
