Sony Xperia comeback: New Android rival challenges Samsung

Sony is set to disrupt the Android market with a major Xperia smartphone launch on May 13, directly challenging Samsung's dominance.
Samsung continues to be the most popular phone brand for those wanting an Android device, but the Korean firm is about to face even more competition.. Sony has just confirmed “exciting” news is on it’s way with the famous Japanese technology giant announcing that its Xperia brand is back.. It’s been a while since we’ve seen one of these Android-powered smartphones getting a complete overhaul, but it appears that will change on May 13th.. “Xperia
– Stay tuned for the exciting news,” Sony said in a post on its website.. “Join us for some exciting news…new product announcement, May 13th, 2026.” So what’s about to launch?. Rumours are rife that this will be a new Xperia 1 flagship from Sony, and it could finally look very different from predecessors thanks to some bold new colours and an update to the camera set-up on the rear case.. Leaked images have already
given a glimpse of how the upcoming Xperia 1 VIII will look, with it possibly arriving in four shades, including Black, Silver, Red and Gold.. Along with those refreshed colours, the triple-lens camera also appears to be getting a change that makes it look more like an iPhone .. Previous Sony phones have always had the lenses lined up and placed on top of one another.. This upcoming phone appears to have two lenses next
to each other, with one placed underneath.. Sony has added to this speculation with a cryptic image showing three circles arranged in the same pattern.. Other features could include a pixel-packed 6.5-inch screen, decent speakers, a fast Qualcomm processor and long battery life.. To help it stand out from the crowd, a headphone port could be included.. Unlike it’s rivals, this useful socket is something Sony has long featured on its devices.. Luckily, there’s not
too long to wait until a full announcement is made and we get to see Sony’s plans in the flesh.
