SNL May 30 Re-Air: Teyana Taylor Returns Onscreen

SNL May – Saturday Night Live will not air a new episode on May 30, 2026. The broadcast is a re-air of the January 24, 2026 show starring Teyana Taylor as host and Geese as musical guest.

The clocks will roll over into Saturday night, and SNL fans will be sitting in front of their screens expecting something fresh. But on May 30, 2026, that expectation won’t be met.

There is no new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight. The Season 51 finale aired on May 16, and the show is now in the early stages of its annual summer hiatus—casting and crew stepping away from Studio 8H to take a break before returning to prepare for Season 52 this fall.

So what’s actually on the schedule? Tonight’s broadcast is a re-air of the January 24, 2026 episode. In that show, Teyana Taylor served as host, with Geese as the musical guest.

Taylor’s hosting debut came with the kind of moments that stick to people long after the credits. The Grammy-nominated singer leaned into a “Gate Agents” sketch, performing alongside Kenan Thompson. She also tackled a fake commercial for “One Battle After Another” action figures and even poked fun at NFL on-field reporting in “NFL on ESPN”—one of several highlights fans have been revisiting since the original airing.

But Taylor’s first time stepping into Studio 8H wasn’t a solo takeover. Geese—the Brooklyn garage rockers—made their own SNL debut and performed for a captivated live audience. Their set included “Au Pays du Cocaine” and “Trinidad.”

With summer hiatus in full swing, new episodes won’t return immediately. Season 52 isn’t slated to kick off until fall 2026.

Until then, fans are being directed back to what already aired: Peacock is set to carry the summer run of Season 51 episodes, and NBC Insider will share the moment the Season 52 premiere date is announced.

  1. I swear SNL is always on hiatus now. Like what happened to new episodes every week? Peacock better at least have the good stuff.

  2. Wait, Teyana Taylor is hosting but it’s from January? I’m confused because I thought it said May 30 was a new show. Also “Geese” sounds like a typo for something else… are they literally a band of geese? lol

  3. This explains why my feed said SNL was “back” but it was the same episode again. Honestly I don’t get why they can’t just drop Season 52 early if the finale was May 16. Also Peacock carrying it makes it feel like they’re pushing people off NBC like always. I miss when Studio 8H meant new jokes, not a rewind button.
