SNL final run: full schedule of hosts and musical guests

There’s a certain kind of TV energy right before a season ends—like the studio air is warmer than usual and everyone’s trying to squeeze in one last big swing. Saturday Night Live is leaning into that feeling as Season 51 heads into its final three shows.
Misryoum newsroom reporting shows the sketch show has revealed the full lineup of hosts and musical guests for what it’s calling its final stretch. Season 51 is going out with a bang, and it kicked off its latest episode with a cold open featuring Donald Trump discussing Iran and rising gas prices. That theme—politics, pressure, and the everyday sting of higher costs—set the tone early, then the show shifted into its more familiar rhythm of celebrity chaos.
The most prominent face in the schedule is Olivia Rodrigo. On May 2, she’ll perform double duty as host and musical guest. Misryoum newsroom reporting adds that it’s her third time on the show as musical guest, but her first time serving as host. Rodrigo’s third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So In Love,” drops June 12, so yeah, this isn’t just a random appearance—it lands in that sweet spot where new music and big TV airtime overlap.
A week later, May 9, Matt Damon takes the hosting chair with musical guest Noah Kahan. Misryoum newsroom reporting states Damon is hosting for the third time, and the episode is coming ahead of his leading role in Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” in July. Kahan, meanwhile, has been an “SNL” musical guest once before, and this second appearance follows the release of his new album “The Great Divide” on April 24. It’s the kind of pairing that feels familiar—big name actor, rising or very much current artist—though, to be honest, the exact vibe always depends on what the writers decide to do with the opening minutes.
Then comes the season finale: May 16 with Will Ferrell hosting. Misryoum newsroom reporting says Ferrell— a former “SNL” cast member—will be making his sixth appearance as host, but his first since 2019. Paul McCartney will perform on the finale as the legendary Beatle’s fifth “SNL” musical guest stint. He’s out with a new album, “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” on May 29, which is a detail that might not land for everyone immediately, but if you’re the kind of viewer who catches these things, it’s a strong follow-through.
The show recently returned after a few weeks off on April 4 with Jack Black hosting alongside musical guest Jack White. Misryoum newsroom reporting also notes that this weekend’s episode is hosted by “Michael” star Colman Domingo, making his hosting debut, alongside musical guest Anitta. Season 51 has included a mix of first-time hosts—Finn Wolfhard and Connor Storrie among them—and returning stars like Ryan Gosling and Amy Poehler. With his April 4 episode, Black joined the show’s five-timers club, an informal group of stars who have hosted the show that many times. After May 16, “SNL” will be off for the summer, and while a premiere date for Season 52 hasn’t been announced, Misryoum editorial desk notes the show typically returns at the very end of September or start of October.
