Skip Bayless weighs in on Cowboys Broderick Jones trade with Steelers

Sports analyst Skip Bayless recently weighed in on the Dallas Cowboys’ trade for Broderick Jones from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the official 53-man roster deadline hours away, the Dallas Cowboys recently acquired Broderick Jones from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The trade came in the wake of the Cowboys’ attempt to strengthen their offensive line. Soon after the transaction, sports analyst Skip Bayless weighed in on the decision.

Bayless dropped a skeptical take on the Jones trade while suggesting Dallas is not sure about their starting tackles.

“Cowboys trade for Steelers’ Broderick Jones because the Cowboys are not sure about either of their starting tackles. Neither am I,” he tweeted.

In addition to Jones, the Steelers are also sending their fourth-round pick in return for two draft picks, namely the third and sixth picks, to the Cowboys.

However, as Bayless questioned, the Cowboys have been struggling on the tackle front given Tyler Guyton and Terence Steele’s performance slump. There hasn’t been much noise during the preseason action or training camp, and the Cowboys were looking for another option.

Though the trade comes with its complications as well. Only last season, Jones dealt with a concerning neck injury after colliding with linebacker Dominique Robinson during the Chicago Bears game. The injury required neck fusion surgery followed by a long rehab timeline.

He was shut down for the season and missed out on what could have been his last six games of the season.

Jones now arrives in Dallas fresh off his training camp clearance. Though he has said to have lost significant weight, fans are hoping for a healthy stretch once the season kicks off on September 9.
