Silo nears return as Sugar surges to #3

Sugar surges – With July 3 set for Silo Season 3, attention is also snapping to Sugar, where Season 2 has landed a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and pushed the Colin Farrell-led series to #3 among the 10 most-streamed Apple TV shows worldwide.
On July 3, Silo is set to unlock even more secrets—right as Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette Nichols is pushed into an even tougher fight than before.
The timing feels tailor-made for the moment Apple TV subscribers are hungry for sci-fi. Silo—an Emmy Award-winning Graham Yost series based on Hugh Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy (Wool. Shift. and Dust)—arrives at a point when its audience appetite is already being tested by the strength of the competition.
Sugar, the Colin Farrell-led 2024 sci-fi series, is one of those alternatives that’s making it hard to look away. Its Season 2 recently debuted to major reactions. and on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes it smashed a perfect 100% score upon release. ScreenRant also described the show as “Apple TV’s best detective series.”.
Collider’s Nate Richard offered a more reserved take, but the numbers are doing the talking. Sugar Season 2 has climbed to #3 in the list of 10 most-streamed shows on Apple TV in the world. It trails only Widow’s Bay and the new limited series Cape Fear, both ranked higher.
That success has immediately fueled the question many viewers are asking: will Sugar come back for a third season?
Farrell has already put a clear hope on the table. In an interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub. he said he “would love to get four or five seasons out of this.” He also explained the uncertainty around getting a straight answer from Apple. noting they “pretty much go season to season. ” based on viewership. Farrell added that he expects “we will have an answer by ‘August.’”.
Falling between those two streaming magnets—Silo’s July 3 return and Sugar’s ongoing rise—Apple TV’s sci-fi slate is suddenly about more than just who’s next to watch. It’s about what happens when two high-interest worlds overlap at the exact moment viewers decide whether they’re ready to move on.
