The violence arrives amid a wider surge in Israeli military activity, attacks against Israelis in the West Bank, and settler violence against Palestinians since the war in Gaza began in October 2023.

Over the weekend, that pattern of sudden bloodshed returned with another deadly incident. Israeli troops shot at a car in the occupied West Bank that they said was accelerating toward troops. killing a 7-month-old Palestinian baby and wounding his parents. according to the Palestinian health ministry.

Taken together, the two days of shootings and the earlier attack on the moving car underscore how quickly events are shifting in the territory—where instructions to stay indoors and searches for remaining attackers become part of daily life as violence continues to ripple across communities.

  1. “Stay at home” but like… people already live there?? This just sounds like nobody is in control. Also the baby thing from the other incident is just heartbreaking.

  2. So the police killed an attacker and there’s still more? That’s what they always say. I don’t get how they can be sure it was only one dude if it was “several simultaneous shootings.” Sounds like misinformation on both sides.

  3. This is what happens when the Gaza war never really ended, it just spread. I saw a clip earlier about “a car speeding toward troops” and I think that’s connected to all of this, like the same people. The manhunt part is scary though, how they’re telling everyone to stay inside like it’s normal now.
