Sheree Zampino didn’t just respond this time—she sued.
In a new legal filing. the Will Smith ex-wife says Bilaal Salaam spread “vicious lies” about her sex life during a recent interview. and is now seeking more than $1 million in damages. The suit was filed after Zampino alleged Salaam publicly targeted her for years. and then escalated the claims during an appearance on Tasha K’s “Unwine with Tasha K” series.
Zampino’s complaint says Salaam “turned his attention” toward her after years of publicly targeting Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. She describes the statements she says he made during the interview as “outrageously offensive, shocking, and hurtful.”
At the center of the dispute is a May 4 promotional clip for the “Unwine with Tasha K” interview that Zampino says was shared across various social media platforms. The text in that clip. according to the lawsuit. read: “Exclusive: Bilaal claims Will Smith’s ex-wife Sheree Zampino was sleeping with everyone in [Hollywood]!!!”.
In the lawsuit, Zampino says Salaam doubled down in the full interview—calling her a “whore” multiple times and claiming she was “screwing everybody in Hollywood.”
Salaam is a former friend of Will Smith who, over the years, has made a number of controversial public claims about the actor and people close to him. He is also reportedly in the middle of a court battle involving Jada Pinkett Smith, over alleged threats.
Zampino’s filing argues the statements are false and amount to slander per se under California law because they accuse her of promiscuous sexual conduct. She also says the remarks caused humiliation, emotional distress, embarrassment, and mental anguish.
Her lawsuit seeks damages for slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Zampino is asking for compensatory damages in excess of $1M, along with punitive damages and legal costs.
