Travis Barker knew the story wasn’t going to stay quiet.
At the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Travis Barker: Love Is Louder Than Fear on Saturday. June 13. Barker reflected on the fear of flying that followed his 2008 deadly jet crash and the addiction struggles he faced over the years. He’s 50, looking back across seven years of his life—confessional, raw, and unflinching about the darkest parts.
Then Shanna Moakler stepped in.
The documentary includes a cameo from the woman he was married to from 2004 to 2008. Moakler. 51. appeared to talk about their time together and recalled the moment Barker came clean about taking 20 to 30 painkillers a day at the height of his addiction. She also described how others were so worried that a security guard was even watching him so he wouldn’t die in his sleep.
Moakler’s presence didn’t stop with the new interviews. She also appears through archive footage pulled from their reality show Meet the Barkers.
Their children are part of the documentary’s spotlight, too: son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20, along with Moakler’s daughter Atiana, 27, whom she shares with Oscar De La Hoya.
The film. described in its official synopsis as a “raw and redemptive journey” that began after Barker survived a devastating plane crash that nearly took his life. also documents the evolution of Barker’s relationship with his now-wife Kourtney Kardashian. Kardashian, 47, was in the audience at the June 13 premiere, and the documentary revisits the early days of their romance.
Barker and Kardashian’s relationship is shown through confessionals, including the moment they opened up for the first time about experiencing a miscarriage before welcoming son Rocky.
“When we lost the baby, we were devastated,” Kardashian said in the documentary. “We cried for days.”
Kardashian also detailed the strain of their continued efforts to get pregnant—efforts that included five IVF attempts over eight months. She later explained that they ultimately decided to press pause on the process before conceiving Rocky, now 22 months.
Travis Barker: Love Is Louder Than Fear premieres on Hulu August 13.
