Sennheiser’s Accentum Clip aims to fix open-ear bass

Sennheiser Accentum – Sennheiser says its new clip-style open-ear Accentum Clip is built to deliver punchier bass and clearer vocals without sealing inside the ear. The earbuds use a 12mm dynamic driver, support SBC, AAC, and LDAC, and include Dynamic EQ—plus call features with AI-

For people who love the comfort of open-ear earbuds but miss the way traditional designs hit in the low end, Sennheiser is betting it can have both.

The German audio company has introduced the Accentum Clip. a clip-style open-ear set designed to solve the trade-off that has dogged the category: without a seal inside the ear canal. open designs often struggle to deliver the bass and immersion music lovers expect. Sennheiser’s pitch is straightforward—stronger bass, clear vocals, and balanced treble.

At the center of those claims is a 12mm dynamic driver. Sennheiser says it has tuned the driver for clarity. punchy bass. and smooth treble that’s meant to stay enjoyable over longer listening sessions. The Accentum Clip supports SBC and AAC codecs, and it also adds LDAC for high-bitrate audio transmission.

Sound tuning doesn’t stop at the driver. The earbuds include a Dynamic EQ feature that adjusts the sound output as volume changes. Sennheiser says the system gradually reduces its EQ adjustments as volume increases, aiming to keep the overall balance steadier and reduce distortion.

The open-ear advantages remain part of the appeal. Since the earbuds sit outside the ear canal, users can keep hearing surrounding sounds while listening to music, podcasts, or taking calls. There is no noise cancellation onboard.

Physically, each earbud weighs 6.8 grams and uses a flexible silicone bridge that wraps around the ear. For workouts and outdoor commutes, Sennheiser rates the earbuds IP54 for dust and sweat resistance.

They’re also built for modern connectivity. The Accentum Clip uses Bluetooth 6.0 with multipoint connectivity and supports Google Fast Pair. For calls, there are dual microphones with AI-assisted noise reduction.

Battery life is rated at up to nine hours on a single charge, with up to 36 hours available when using the charging case. Sennheiser says a 10-minute charge is enough for up to two hours of playback.

The Accentum Clip is set to launch in Black and Cream on July 23 in Canada at CAD $269.95. Sennheiser plans to debut the earbuds first in Canada. China. and countries in Central and South America. with later availability promised for the UK and Europe. The company has not shared plans for other regions, including the U.S., yet.

  1. If it’s $270 in Canada and not even in the US yet, that’s already a pass for me. Also no noise cancelling? Just listen louder??

  2. Wait so it has LDAC but only SBC/AAC too… that’s like the middle ground codecs thing right? I saw “AI noise reduction” and thought it meant noise cancelling, but it says none onboard, so what’s the point??

  3. Sennheiser always tweaking EQ like it’s gonna fix everything. “Dynamic EQ gradually reduces as volume increases” ok so it gets less fun when you turn it up? lol. I just want earbuds that actually punch without the ear canal seal, but open-ear usually sounds thin. Also IP54 dust and sweat is cool I guess, but I’m not paying $269 to beta test in Canada.
