Sean Murphy hits seventh, Ha-Seong Kim back in the lineup for Rockies finale

The Braves have re-added Sean Murphy and Ha-Seong Kim to the lineup, with Murphy moving up to the seventh spot:

Murphy made his season debut hitting seventh, but has largely hit eighth or ninth since his most recent reactivation from the Injured List. With Mauricio Dubon in left field, Mike Yastrzemski gets a “day off.” Michael Harris II also moves back to cleanup, creating a lefty-followed-by-lefty situation towards the top of the lineup that the Braves began avoiding after dropping the first two to the Brewers last week.

The Colorado lineup is mostly full of familiar names, except that Hunter Goodman gets a day off from catching and will DH instead, while Ryan Ritter takes over at shortstop. This is just Ritter’s fourth start of the year; he also got about 200 PAs last year in a replacement-level effort.

While the Braves haven’t faced Mason Adams given that, well, he made his MLB debut last week, the Rockies have some history against Tyler Mahle. Everyone in their lineup save for Ritter has faced Mahle at least once, though no one has double-digit PAs against the right-hander. The aggregate line of 49 PAs is very funny: a .399 wOBA and .290 xwOBA. That’s not unexpected in just 49 PAs, but boy, that’s a big difference between those two numbers. The Braves will hope the Rockies don’t do that to them and Mahle today.
