Scott Eastwood Calls Out ‘Unacceptable Behavior’ on Set

Scott Eastwood says a collaborator on a recent film decided, after money was already spent, to drop a key person and walk away—without paying investors back—then doubled down on refusing accountability.

Scott Eastwood didn’t mince words on “The Joe Rogan Experience.” The actor described an on-set situation that he called “unacceptable behavior,” centered on a collaboration that fell apart after pre-production spending had already begun.

Eastwood said work started on a film with a director. and that after “we’d spent a bunch of money. ” the filmmaker decided they didn’t want to keep working with another person involved in the project. In Eastwood’s telling. that meant the other contributor was cut out of the job—after the investment had already been made.

Eastwood said he told the director the money should be returned to the person who had invested in the project. He described the pushback as blunt: “they’re like, ‘I don’t need to do that.’ It’s like, well, uh, yeah you do.”

When Rogan pressed Eastwood on specifics—saying he could name someone and they could edit it out—Eastwood chose not to. He said only that the person in question decided after the start of pre-production on the unnamed film that they didn’t want to continue collaborating with another member. leading to an abrupt exit “unceremoniously” and without repaying the investors.

“It was their directorial, their story, their thing,” Eastwood said. “It’s just like, bro, you took money from somebody.”

Rogan responded that refusing repayment could expose someone to legal trouble. adding that it “seems like” a person could get sued for it “pretty easy.” Eastwood’s main complaint. though. went wider than one dispute. He said he’s seen behavior in the entertainment business that would not happen in other industries.

“Some of the accountability, man, in the industry is unbelievable,” Eastwood said. He described it as a sense among some people that “the world owes them something,” followed by a refusal to do the right thing when it matters.

Eastwood warned that there’s nothing gray about it: “when it comes to doing the right thing, you’re like, dude, it’s black and white. Do the right thing. Don’t be a piece of s–t. You can’t do that. That’s unacceptable behavior, and they’re like, ‘F–k that.’”

The actor’s career includes first-hand experience in Hollywood’s inner workings. He is the son of movie star and filmmaker Clint Eastwood. and has built a sizable acting resume that includes “The Fate of the Furious” and “Suicide Squad” (2016). as well as the Nicholas Sparks adaptation “The Longest Ride.” More recently. Eastwood appeared in “Regretting You” and the newly released “Lucky Strike. ” starring alongside Colin Hanks.

During the Rogan conversation on Friday, Eastwood stayed focused on accountability and the consequences of walking away from commitments after money is spent—insisting that cutting someone loose without repayment isn’t just bad business, it’s a breach of basic responsibility.

  1. I mean Scott Eastwood seems right but also like who are we even talking about lol. Joe Rogan saying legal trouble is where I tuned in. If investors got screwed that’s not “creative differences.”

  2. Not gonna lie, I don’t trust stories like this without names. If it’s real, just say the person and the movie. Otherwise it just sounds like “bro you took money” which ok but what proof? Also the entertainment industry is basically everyone fighting over credits anyway so…

  3. This is why I don’t watch behind-the-scenes stuff, everybody’s always throwing someone under the bus. Like wasn’t Scott Eastwood also in that movie with the director who got in trouble before? I feel like this happens a lot—someone quits and then they don’t pay back like it’s magically covered by insurance or something. Rogan talking about suing “pretty easy” makes it sound like the person will just get arrested??
