TORONTO — Adley Rutschman made it look easy, stepping into the moment and sending the Orioles past the Blue Jays 13-3 on Friday night.

Rutschman hit a solo home run and finished with four hits and five RBIs. He also added two two-run doubles, a full day’s worth of damage that helped Baltimore turn the game into a runaway.

The Orioles piled on again in the five-run sixth. Coby Mayo capped the burst with a two-run homer off Trey Yesavage (2-3), pushing the lead further and driving Toronto to its fifth straight loss. The Blue Jays fell for the fifth time in six games.

On the mound, Baltimore right-hander Brandon Young (4-1) got back on track. It was his first win since May 6. He worked 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with no walks and four strikeouts. Young gave Toronto a jolt in the fifth when Brandon Valenzuela connected for a two-run homer.

Rutschman reached base a fifth time with a walk and scored four runs overall, turning Baltimore’s offense into something relentless from start to finish.

For Toronto, the night carried another concern when outfielder Daulton Varsho left the game in the fourth inning with left wrist discomfort.

Spencer Miles (2-1) was expected to take on most of the work Saturday in a bullpen outing for the Blue Jays. RHP Kyle Bradish (3-6) was set to start for the Orioles.
