Roses and Rotten Tomatoes hit Surrey over driving, housing

Rotten Tomatoes to idiots who speed and tailgate like maniacs. What’s the emergency? Did you forget how to manage your time, or do you just enjoy driving like a complete clown? Riding someone’s bumper and weaving through traffic doesn’t make you important. it makes you reckless and obnoxious. Grow up and learn how to drive properly before you hurt someone. • Rotten Tomatoes for the Surrey development department for allowing three-storey single-family homes. Not just a basement and two storeys but three storeys stories above
ground. This is a complete monstrosity with respect to the neighbours. Moreover, such homes have at least 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms but a two-car garage that is full of household junk after moving in and 10 cars parked on the street. This city has become absolutely hideous in terms of development. Highrises everywhere you look, no infrastructure, no schools, no hospitals, just monstrous houses and garbage everywhere. The solution is not to turn a blind eye to everything, but to demand that the administration
of this city behave with respect for its residents, the administration that is paid for with our money. It’s time to elect responsible city leadership. • Rotten Tomatoes to whoever scattered reflective foil all around and in the duck pond at Hawthorne Park. This will kill the wildlife. Keep your celebration’s confetti inside where it will not damage the wildlife. Pick up your discarded balloons as it is also a hazard to wildlife. Parents, educate yourself with what can and cannot be done in our
parks, they are a privilege that taxpayers work hard to pay for. The landscape staff at this park work very hard to make you enjoy what they have done. • Rotten Tomatoes to the person who wrote to this column stating the seniors’ rate at Surrey Parks and Recreation starts at age 70 for not doing their research. It actually starts at age 60 and is comparable to the student rate, which is normal. Then at age 70, seniors get an additional discount! They probably
just got angry at a front desk or on the phone, got mad at an employee and then complained to this newspaper. The Rotten Tomatoes can be shared by the Surrey Now-Leader for posting this information. • Yes, again, Rotten Tomatoes to City of Surrey for two rates of seniors prices to attend recreation programs. The City of Surrey does not give seniors another discount on their property taxes at age 70. • Rotten Tomatoes to the NDP for cancelling the much-needed housing for the
poor in Surrey. Roses for our Mayor Locke for calling out the NDP for cancelling housing in Surrey. • Roses to all the pharmacies and restaurants who have specials for seniors 55 and above. • Roses: I will vote for the next person running for mayor in Surrey who will follow Langley’s rules for parking all large vehicles. Some subdivisions are over loaded with mega trucks. • I would love to return the Rotten Tomatoes to the person who posted about Stage 2 water restrictions.
Perhaps it would help to read what is actually permitted under the restrictions. Under Surrey’s Stage 2 water restrictions, you may wash or pressure wash outdoor surfaces at any day and any time using a handheld hose or pressure washer. You may also continue to water trees and shrubs after 9 a.m. Send your Roses and Rotten Tomatoes to newsroom@surreynowleader.com.

So are we mad at driving or the city planning, cuz it feels like both lol.
I swear people tailgate like theyre in a demolition derby. Also those three-storey houses sound wild, like where do all the cars even go? No way that’s good for neighbors.
“Reflective foil”?? Isn’t that the same stuff from those party videos where people set off stuff and the ducks get blinded? I mean I get the wildlife concern but also people throw trash everywhere and the city never fixes it. Maybe if they had more police at Hawthorne Park then this wouldn’t happen.
Can we just agree Surrey is getting worse? Like first it’s the garbage homes, then no schools, then people speed and act surprised when there’s accidents. Also the article says three storeys “above ground” which… ok but aren’t basements still part of it? Idk, seems like everyone is blaming everyone, but the driving thing is definitely true.
