Role Model reveals why he couldn’t attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding

Role Model missed out on the most star-studded wedding of the century: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s July nuptials.
“I couldn’t go. I was busy in the middle of an album rollout, but it looked amazing,” the singer said in a new interview with Nylon, referring to his album Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, which is out August 7.
Though he didn’t attend that particular event, Role Model (real name: Tucker Pillsbury) opened up to the magazine about recently attending his first wedding as a grown man and how it inspired his song “The Wedding.”
“Marriage is not that romantic to me,” he shared. “Being with someone for life is romantic to me. But the whole idea of going into a church and inviting all these people? … That was never attractive to me. Then I went to my first wedding, and I cried.”
Though the performer couldn’t make it to Swift and Kelce’s wedding, many, many, many A-listers were in attendance.
The guest list included Sir Paul McCartney, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Patrick Mahomes, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Karlie Kloss, Lena Dunham, Zadie Smith, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ashanti, Camila Cabello, Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber, Ed Sheeran, Ice Spice, Simone Biles and more.
Following the major event, which took place on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, a rep for Swift shared that the couple’s respective brothers – Austin Swift and Jason Kelce – served as their bridal party, and that both the “Paper Rings” singer and the NFL pro wore Dior to exchange their vows. Also, Adam Sandler officiated!
Other details have trickled out via some of the guests.
For example, sports broadcaster Pat McAfee called the event “the most spectacular evening I’ve ever been a part of,” adding, “The event itself was, like, the most spectacular, grand thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Taylor Swift’s one of the greatest creators that the world’s ever seen. She puts on stadium shows all around the globe. She has to entertain people that are 90 and also that are 15. Think about her brain going to her dream wedding, and then Travis Kelce’s energy in the middle of it, and the football world coming together with Hollywood and Nashville. Brad Pitt brought me a Jack and Di!”
Becca Tilley said, “It was… amazing. I saw Donna Kelce answer this and she said, ‘I can’t say much about it, but it was magical, man,’ and that’s what I’ll say. It was magical.”
