Roku’s 90% streaming sale ends May 24 for deals

Roku 90% – Roku has launched a Black Friday-style streaming sale with discounts of up to 90% on more than 30 subscriptions in the US. Many deals are aimed at new or returning subscribers and last for only about two months—meaning the low prices expire May 24 and subscrip

Roku’s latest “holiday” arrives like a surprise: massive discounts on streaming subscriptions, framed as if Black Friday never left. The catch is written into the fine print—this isn’t a long-term price cut, and it comes with a deadline that matters.

The company is offering discounts of up to 90% on over 30 streaming subscriptions. Deals include Starz, Hallmark+, and Apple TV, and they can be especially aggressive for short windows. For example, Howdy comes with a 7-day free trial. An Apple TV subscription drops to $5.99 per month from $12.99 for two months. Starz is down to $1.99 per month from its usual $11.99. Hallmark+ is also discounted to $1.99 instead of $7.99 for two months.

Roku says these offers are valid in the US and expire on May 24. After that date, subscriptions automatically revert to their normal monthly rates. That means the advertised bargains behave less like a permanent sale and more like a short teaser—cheap enough to pull people in. then ready to switch back to full price once the promotional period ends.

Some of the offers are also designed around subscriber status. A number of the discounts are mainly targeted at new or returning subscribers. not people who are already paying for Roku subscriptions at full price. For longtime Roku users. that can feel like the “holiday spirit” doesn’t stretch as far as it does for everyone else.

There are additional deals listed for services including Lifetime Movie Club, Faith & Family, Shout!. TV, and Frndly TV, among others. Most of these discounted subscriptions last only about two months. reinforcing the same pattern: a sharp reduction for a limited time. followed by an automatic return to standard billing.

All of it points to a familiar streaming play—pull new viewers in with prices that feel almost unreal, stack up additional subscriptions, and hope enough people stick around after the discount ends. Roku has simply wrapped that strategy in its own branded sale event, making the window feel urgent.

If you want the discounted pricing, the calendar is the real opponent. Roku’s stated deadline is May 24, and once it passes, those discounted monthly rates disappear.

  1. So they’re doing a Black Friday thing but only for new people? That’s dumb. I already pay for stuff so I guess I’m just getting robbed unless I cancel and come back or whatever.

  2. Wait is this on Roku devices only or can you use the app anywhere? I swear I saw Apple TV cheaper last time and then it disappeared after a week. Also $1.99 for Starz is crazy but it probably ends up being like $19 later right?

  3. I don’t get why everyone’s surprised. They say up to 90% off but it’s just for like “two months” and then your card gets hit again. I clicked Howdy and it was 7 days free so I’m assuming you still gotta pay after that… so yeah it’s basically a trial trap. anyway May 24 is so close I’ll probably forget.
