Robbie Williams sponsors Port Vale, front-of-shirt deal

Robbie Williams will feature on Port Vale’s home and away shirts for the next two seasons after becoming a sponsor of his boyhood club, while also taking on an ambassador role for the Port Vale Foundation.

Robbie Williams didn’t just turn up at Port Vale’s world—he’s now letting the Valiants’ shirt carry his name.

The music icon has boosted the coffers of League Two club Port Vale by placing his initials across the front of the team’s shirts. taking up the club’s home and away kit sponsorship role for the next two seasons. The new range is black and white with a slash design, and Williams’ official logo will sit in the centre.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent and a lifelong supporter of Port Vale. Williams has built a long relationship with the club. becoming Honorary President in 2024. This is the first time he has directly injected cash into the Staffordshire outfit. but it doesn’t represent a sudden break from the past. He previously helped raise money for the club, including hosting a homecoming charity gig at Vale Park in 2022.

He has also been involved in the kit design before. Williams had input into the design process for all three strips for the 2020/21 season, even if he hadn’t been the shirt sponsor until now.

Alongside sponsoring the shirts, Williams has been named an ambassador for the Port Vale Foundation. In comments on the deal, Williams said: ‘It feels pretty incredible, to be honest. Robbie Williams, on the front of a Port Vale shirt. It’s a match made in heaven. for me.’ He added: ‘I started going to the Vale when it was 50p for a junior supporter to get in. It takes a village to raise a child, and the Railway Paddock at Vale Park raised me.’.

Williams made clear the motivation behind returning to the club more directly, referencing the people behind it. ‘I’m back here and back involved because of [Chair and Co-Owner] Carol [Shanahan] and the family. and what they have created backstage. Being embraced again by the Port Vale family has been very important to me, and it feels wonderful.’.

Port Vale’s chief executive officer Matt Hancock matched the message, calling the partnership both personal and impactful. He said: ‘This partnership means a huge amount to us here at the football club. and we are absolutely delighted to be working alongside Robbie.’ Hancock continued: ‘He is not only a global superstar. but also a genuine supporter of the club with a deep and personal connection to our town. It’s that authenticity which makes this so powerful.’.

He added that the deal is intended to translate fandom into real-world help for the club and the Foundation. ‘From the very first conversations. it was clear this was about Robbie’s life-long love for Port Vale and making a tangible difference to people’s lives.’ Hancock said the support and exposure from the partnership will help Port Vale ‘reach more people. create more opportunities and continue using the club as a force for good.’ He ended with thanks to Williams and his team: ‘We’re grateful to Robbie and his team and can’t wait to see the partnership come to life. starting with the release of our new kits for 2026/27.’.

The official Port Vale 2026/27 home shirt will be available to purchase from Saturday 13th June at 9am, available both in person at the Club Store and online.
