CLEVELAND, Ohio — By Saturday morning, some downtown streets won’t just be slower. They’ll be gone—blocked off temporarily as Huntington Bank Field hosts the Brazil vs. Egypt Men’s International Soccer match, and PRIDE in the CLE moves through the downtown area.
The city is urging drivers to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes when possible. The message is blunt because the impact is immediate: if you’re heading downtown this weekend, your normal route may not exist.

Ontario Street to South Roadway
Euclid Avenue to East Roadway
Superior Avenue to East 3rd Street

Parking restrictions will make the weekend harder on top of the closures. They run from Friday, June 5 through midnight on Saturday, June 6.
The city also warns drivers to check nearby poles, posts, and parking meters for signage, since restrictions may change based on traffic conditions.
No-parking restrictions will be in effect on the following streets:

For travelers trying to avoid the bottleneck—and the cost—Cleveland points people toward public transit. The GCRTA’s Waterfront Line will be operating to take riders directly there for the first goal of the match. Riders can take the GCRTA’s Red. Blue. or Green Lines to Tower City Station. then transfer to the Waterfront Line and ride to the W. 3rd St. Station in front of Huntington Bank Field.
There’s also the option to walk from Tower Terminal to the next destination.
Ride-hailing will have its own timed adjustments in the Flats East Bank. Rideshare pickup zones there will be active seasonally on Friday and Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to look for signage on Old River Road and West 10th Street designating these zones.
The weekend may be packed with music, celebration, and sports—but for drivers, the city’s plan is clear: closures, ramp shutdowns, and no-parking zones are coming first. The best bet is to check your route early and give yourself extra time.
