Raskin presses White House on Trump’s doctors count

Raskin demands – Rep. Jamie Raskin expanded his congressional probe into President Donald Trump’s health, demanding the White House physician provide Congress a full medication list, the names and specialties of nearly two dozen doctors, and the results of Trump’s most recent

When Rep. Jamie Raskin wrote to the White House physician, he didn’t just ask for another update. He demanded receipts—medications. doctor identities. and the results of Trump’s most recent exam—after insisting it “apparently” took 22 medical specialists to declare President Donald Trump in “excellent health.”.

The Maryland Democrat, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, sent the letter to Captain Sean P. Barbabella, the president’s physician, on Thursday. In it. Raskin attacked what he described as the White House’s refusal to say who all those doctors were. what specialties they practice in. and why a routine physical for a man allegedly in excellent health required a medical team “nearly the size of a major league baseball team roster.”.

Raskin’s letter also points to specific recent activity at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C. On May 26, he says, Trump spent three hours at the hospital—his third visit there in 13 months. Raskin also highlights that Trump has admitted to taking 325 milligrams of aspirin daily. which Raskin says is four times the standard dose. In Raskin’s account, Trump has also shown persistent hand bruising covered in makeup and recurrent leg swelling.

“That does not sound like a patient in ‘excellent health,’” Raskin said.

The letter gives the White House physician until July 2 to provide the House committee with details on Trump’s medical team and medications. Raskin includes a demand tied to an earlier confrontation: he says his committee previously asked for the results of Trump’s full cognitive exam. after he posted a profanity-laced Easter Sunday social media post threatening to bomb civilian infrastructure in Iran. In Thursday’s letter. Raskin says the White House never complied with that congressional inquiry and makes the earlier demand again.

“Comply with my April 10, 2026, request by conducting and publicly releasing a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment of the President and making yourself available for a briefing, under oath, with Members of the Committee,” Raskin wrote.

The White House responded sharply. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle scoffed at Raskin’s suggestion that Trump has health concerns. saying. “Lightweight Jamie Raskin is a stupid person’s idea of a smart person.” Ingle added that Trump’s “sharpness. unmatched energy. and historic accessibility” contrast with what Ingle described as Democrats “intentionally covered up” during the last administration. referencing Democrats like Raskin covering what Ingle characterized as Joe Biden’s “serious mental and physical decline.”.

For the moment. the fight is not only about what Trump’s doctors say. but about what they’re willing to disclose. Raskin’s probe puts the White House under a public timeline—July 2 for the medical-team details and medication list—while also reopening pressure for an assessment Raskin says Congress has not yet received.
