Randolph man charged in fatal Roxbury shooting

A Randolph man is charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Roxbury Saturday night.

Jarrid Campbell Jr., 23, was arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder on Monday, court documents show.

Campbell was arrested shortly after the shooting, which occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday in front of 306 Warren St., according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

The victim, Junior Manuel Sosa Fernandez, 28, was shot multiple times and died at a local hospital, officials said.

“I extend my deepest sympathies to Junior Manuel Sosa Fernandez’s family and friends, and I thank Boston police and investigators whose diligent work led to the swift identification and arrest of Jarrid Campbell,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a press release.

Campbell is being held without bail and is set to reappear in court for a probable cause hearing on Sept. 29, the DA’s office said.

Attorney information for Campbell was not publicly available Monday night.
