A $131 million Powerball jackpot is up for grabs Monday, Aug. 31, after no ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing, extending the game’s latest rollover and giving players another shot at a nine-figure prize.
Tonight’s drawing comes just weeks after an Illinois player won a staggering $1.04 billion jackpot and as Powerball undergoes its biggest expansion in years. For the first time, players in the United Kingdom can buy tickets for the same jackpot as U.S. participants, potentially bringing millions of new players into the pool and helping fuel the next massive jackpot run.

How much is the Powerball jackpot?
The estimated jackpot for Monday night’s drawing is $131 million, with a cash option of $56.8 million.
Why this drawing is different
Powerball recently expanded into the United Kingdom, allowing British players to compete for the same jackpot as players in the United States.
While ticket sales from both countries contribute to the shared jackpot, there are important differences. U.K. tickets cost more than those sold in the U.S., lower-tier prizes are awarded through a separate prize structure, and jackpot winners receive annual payments through the U.K. National Lottery.
Lottery officials say the move could boost ticket sales and help jackpots grow faster during future rollover runs.
When was the last Powerball jackpot winner?
The most recent jackpot win came on Aug. 12, when a ticket sold in Illinois matched all six numbers to win an estimated $1.04 billion prize.
That jackpot ranks among the largest Powerball prizes ever awarded and reset the game after months of rollovers.
When is the next Powerball drawing?
If nobody wins Monday night’s jackpot, the next drawing will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Do you have to be a U.S. citizen to play?
No. You do not need to be a U.S. citizen or resident to play Powerball.
Anyone who meets the legal age requirement and purchases a ticket from an authorized retailer in a participating jurisdiction can play, regardless of nationality.
