Ralf Schumacher marries Etienne in St Tropez ceremony

Former F1 star Ralf Schumacher, 50, married Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne, 36, in a glitzy St Tropez ceremony on Saturday, filmed for a new documentary series. The wedding arrives 19 months after Schumacher came out as gay, following years of highly public tension

Ralf Schumacher looked like he’d stepped straight into a postcard: navy blue suits. light blue ties. and a ceremony in the French coastal town of St Tropez surrounded by loved ones. On Saturday. the former F1 star. 50. married his partner. Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne. 36. as the couple launched what was billed as a three-day celebration.

The wedding itself came with a spotlight. Cameras from Sky and Wow were at the event to film the nuptials as part of a new documentary series chronicling their lives. The four-part show. titled “Ralf & Etienne: Wir sagen Ja (We say Yes). ” is already on air. with the season finale wedding episode set to be broadcast later this week.

Schumacher and Bousquet-Cassagne are close in their everyday rhythm, too. They own a home nearby, and the preparations leading into Saturday’s vows reflected the intensity of that spotlight. It is expected the documentary series will include coverage of Bousquet-Cassagne having a facelift ahead of the ceremony. The 36-year-old was keen to go ahead with the procedure, even though Schumacher’s partner had reservations about it.

But the wedding also lands in the middle of a story that has never been strictly private. Schumacher came out as gay 19 months ago, following a split from his ex-wife, Cora. They were married for 13 years, tied the knot in 2001, and shared a son, David. After Schumacher revealed he was in a same-sex relationship. their personal relationship turned into a bitter feud that quickly played out publicly.

Cora even burned her wedding dress after the upheaval. She later made a public plea for Schumacher to leave her alone so she could “heal in peace,” describing how she had reacted angrily to his bombshell and said she had “wasted her best years” on him.

The tone shifted in February, when news of Schumacher remarrying began to circulate. Cora sent a heartfelt message to her ex-husband ahead of the wedding. and she also spoke about her own life with her new partner. Steven Bo Bekendam. At the time, she said: “Steven and I wish Ralf and Etienne all the best and much happiness.”.

Between that earlier rupture and Saturday’s renewed commitment, one detail has remained constant: the Schumacher story keeps finding an audience. Even in St Tropez—amid guests and celebrations—the documentary format ensures the latest chapter won’t disappear quietly after the last photo.

There is also a family shadow that sits alongside the glamour. Schumacher’s brother, Michael—the seven-time F1 world champion—is wheelchair-bound after a horrifying skiing crash in 2013.

  1. I’m confused though—did he marry in St Tropez or is this like a staged documentary thing? Also the timeline is messy, 19 months ago he came out, now suddenly wedding??

  2. That facelift part sounds kinda like the ex drama is just being used for clicks. People acting like “leave me alone” but then everyone is still talking on TV. And Sky and Wow filming?? that’s just gonna make it worse, right?

  3. Wait Cora burned her wedding dress?? I mean I get being upset but that’s the kind of thing you see on reality shows. And they say it was “never strictly private” like what, the brother Michael was in it too? idk, all I know is half the internet is gonna judge the suits and ignore the actual person.
