President Donald Trump addresses his tresses, says he’s ‘gotta do a little bit better in the back’ — ‘I don’t like that little skin that’s showing’

President Donald Trump turned attention to one of his most recognizable features on September 10, publicly critiquing his own hair and admitting he was unhappy with a patch of visible skin near the back of his head.

Speaking at the Republican National Committee midterm convention in Dallas, Trump looked up at a screen, caught a glimpse of himself and commented on his appearance.

“I’ve gotta do a little bit better in the back right there. I don’t like that little skin that’s showing. I’m not happy. That’s not good. I shouldn’t have looked up there,” he said, as reported by Newsweek.

The remark came days after Trump’s hair drew attention following a noticeable change in its color.

Trump debuted dramatically darker hair while stepping off Air Force One in New Jersey on September 4, prompting speculation online about whether the president had dyed his hair or changed his styling.

Journalist Aaron Rupar reacted to the new look on X, writing, “What in the world is going on with Trump’s hair?” Days later on September 9, Rupar shared a post about Trump’s hair and the wind.

Trump’s hair has been a source of fascination and jokes for decades, dating back to his years as a businessman and television personality. His sweeping blond hairstyle later became an even more recognizable part of his image after he entered politics.

Recent appearances have fueled renewed interest because Trump has been seen with several noticeably different hair colors, ranging from silvery white and strawberry blond to a darker brunette shade.

Trump has repeatedly pushed back on speculation that he wears a hairpiece.

At a recent Rose Garden event, he declared, “I don’t wear a wig,” pointing to a windy 2024 campaign rally as evidence.

Recent photos taken at Joint Base Andrews prompted online discussion about an apparent thinning area near the back of Trump’s head.

Hours later, Trump appeared on stage in Dallas with a noticeably fuller hairstyle, further fueling online theories about his hair.

Late-night hosts chime in

Late-night television hosts also joked about the latest changes.

Jimmy Fallon joked that Trump must have hired “the Reflecting Pool people to dye [his] hair,” referencing recent failed work involving the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Jimmy Kimmel also mocked Trump’s changing hair color, telling viewers, “The leaves are changing colors and so is the president’s head.”

Kimmel added, “It’s like he’s aging in reverse. He’s our own little Benjamin Glutton.”
