Premier League and WSL Trophies Head to Guernsey Display

Premier League and Women’s Super League trophies will be displayed in Guernsey on 29 May and then shown to youth players on 30 May.
A pair of some of football’s most recognisable trophies are set to land in Guernsey later this month, giving fans a rare chance to see them up close.
Misryoum reports that the Premier League and Women’s Super League trophies will be on display at the Barclays branch on St Julian’s Avenue on 29 May.
On the following day, the silverware is due to be shown to players taking part in a youth 6-a-side football tournament at Victoria Park.
The bank and Victoria Park are working together on the project, with the aim of creating a moment that feels memorable for young players as well as supporters.
Insight: Trophy tours like this matter because they turn distant sporting legends into something local people can physically experience, which can shift enthusiasm into participation.
Victoria Park director Rob Jones said it is rare to witness a piece of football history first-hand, adding that the event is expected to be a highlight on the island’s sporting calendar.
He also described the project as a chance for the community to connect with football heritage while supporting Barclays, which he said is one of Victoria Park’s founding partners.
Insight: For young athletes, seeing trophies in person can make the sport feel more reachable, reinforcing that dedication and talent can lead to moments of major recognition.
Jones said Guernsey’s football community cannot wait to host the tournament and offer a “small slice” of football history for fans of all ages.
Insight: These kinds of initiatives can help build long-term momentum for local grassroots football, because inspiration is most powerful when it is tied to an actual event and audience.
