Poll asks: Is Pixel charging slower after heat?

Pixel charging – As a summer heatwave sweeps through Europe, the UK, and parts of the US, Pixel owners say their phones are struggling to hit fast charging speeds—sometimes after updates. MISRYOUM is asking readers to vote and share details.
On a day when heat already feels like it’s sitting on your shoulders, the last thing you want is a phone that refuses to charge quickly. For many Google Pixel owners, that’s exactly what the experience has been lately: unusually slow charging speeds that don’t match what they remember from earlier.
The problem lands right when temperatures are rising across Europe, the UK, and the eastern and midwestern US. Pixel devices are already known to throttle easily under heat, and that throttling can also affect charging speeds. With a sweltering heatwave gripping much of the region, the issue is poised to feel even more bothersome.
Even without extreme weather, though, some Pixel owners are reporting trouble hitting fast charging speeds. The concerns aren’t confined to one simple scenario either. A few reports and comments on Reddit and Google support pages point to users who say certain Pixel phones struggle to reach fast charging speeds.
The devices most often mentioned in this slowdown include the new Pixel 10 and the Pixel 9 series.
To get a clearer picture. MISRYOUM has launched a reader poll asking: “Does your Google Pixel charge slowly. especially after a recent update?” The responses so far show a split in what people are experiencing: 24 votes chose “Yes. it’s slower than ever” (50%). 17% say “It’s not too fast. but not too slow. ” 33% report “I don’t have any issues. ” and 0% selected “That’s why I don’t have a Pixel.” There’s also an “Anything else (comment below)” option with 0% so far.
What makes the situation sharper is the way users describe it. Some say they can feel the charging speeds crawling, especially after a recent update. If that matches what people are seeing. it’s particularly frustrating because Google says it addressed charging issues in its May update for Pixels—patching slower charging by 75–80%.
And the timing doesn’t fully line up for every theory. Some of the reports predate the stable Android 17 release for Pixel devices, which means the slowdowns can’t be pinned on that release alone.
There’s still no clear, confirmed explanation for why fast charging might be inconsistent for certain owners. But the immediate next step is straightforward: MISRYOUM wants to hear from Pixel users directly. Readers are being asked to vote in the poll above and share the conditions that slow charging down. including the version of Android or the build their Pixel is currently running.
While that feedback comes in, MISRYOUM has reached out to Google for comments and says it will publish an update once a response is received.

Google Pixel charging speed slow charging Pixel 10 Pixel 9 heat throttling May update Android 17 Android update Google support poll
My Pixel charges slow just because it’s Google, honestly.
I swear mine has been slower since an update, like it won’t hit the fast speed unless I’m freezing my hands off. Also could be the charger I guess but it used to work way better.
Is this why my Pixel 9 took forever? I thought the heat was just making the battery last less, not the charging speed. But if they’re saying Pixel throttle under heat then yeah that kinda checks out. Still though, my friend’s iPhone was fine sitting in the same car so idk.
0% selected “That’s why I don’t have a Pixel” which is hilarious bc everyone I know is complaining lol. I didn’t update recently and mine still charges slow sometimes, so I’m thinking it’s the weather AND some conspiracy with the cable standards? Like fast charging is a scam anyway. Also the article says the Pixel 10 and 9 series are most mentioned, so maybe my older one is just “safer”??
