A Fighting-type bird about to walk off a cliff is exactly the kind of trouble Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu seems built for.
The franchise started its journey in 1996. first as a video game before expanding into a universe that includes its long-running anime. Along the way. The Pokémon Company has leaned into more than one format—keeping a main series where Pokémon trainers partner with their starter Pokémon at age 10. while rolling out multiple spin-off shows focused on other characters and Pokémon that don’t always get the spotlight.
Now, that spin-off pipeline has another entry. In 2024, Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu was announced as a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Aardman Animations, the studio behind Wallace and Gromit.
This year, the latest chapter of the project was discussed during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. 2027?! guess I’m still waiting forever lol. Hope it’s not boring.
Sirfetch’d and Pichu sounds like a weird combo ngl. If they’re about to walk off a cliff then why does the bird always survive in these shows? Also Aardman doing Pokémon feels random but kinda awesome.
Wait so this is the same as the main Pokémon anime? Like are they changing the timeline or just making another season? I saw “Galar” and assumed it was already confirmed in the games or something. Not sure why Sirfetch’d is getting a whole show when Pikachu exists but ok.
Wallace and Gromit studio making Pokémon… so is it gonna be claymation the whole time or like “Aardman style” whatever that means. They said “rarely go as planned” which is basically every Pokémon episode anyway. 2027 release plans means we’ll get more trailers that don’t explain anything until then.
