Plymouth Argyle: ‘No panic’ says Tom Cleverley after opening loss

Pilgrims midfielder Malachi Boateng, 24, was ever-present in last season’s campaign. He concedes the solutions ultimately lie in the dressing room.
“It’s on us as a team to be better. The pre-season we’ve had has been good, but we just came up short (against Stockport).
“It wasn’t the start we expected, but the thing about football is the opportunity to put it right immediately (at Wycombe on Saturday).
“We played them a few times last season, and we know what they are about. They’re a good side and it will be a test.”
Argyle currently have three attacking players out injured, with Michael Baidoo, Owen Oseni and Freddie Issaka all sidelined.
Attacking midfielder Caleb Watts is set to return to the squad this weekend after after suffering a pre-season ankle injury, but Cleverley hasn’t ruled out another addition before the end of the window.
“We’re still trying to improve the squad, by adding one more number, so if one leaves bring two more in,” he said.
“Maybe a forward or a wide player – can we utilise the loan market to bring in someone who could potentially be above the level.”
