Pink Was Terrified to Become a Mom Before Kids

Pink terrified – Pink said she was “terrified” to become a mother before having children, even as she praised how her daughter Willow changed her understanding of love. As Willow turns 15 and the family settles in New York City, Pink also gets ready to emcee the 2026 Tony Awar
Pink didn’t sugarcoat it. Before she ever became a mom, she said she was scared—scared of what motherhood might ask of her, and of whether she could handle it.
“Honestly, I was terrified to be a mother,” Pink, 46, told E! News in an interview published Wednesday, June 3. She shared the lesson she’s taken from her daughter, Willow. “I told Willow in her birthday card that she taught me what love is. And I’ve loved every phase of being her mom.”
Willow, whom Pink shares with husband Carey Hart, turned 15 on Tuesday, June 2. Pink and Hart, 50, are also parents of son Jameson, 9. When asked about her firstborn. Pink said. “It makes me very emotional.” She admitted she didn’t know she could manage what came next. “I did not know that I would be able to handle a teenager — and she is the easiest person I’ve ever met to love.”.
The tenderness in Pink’s words lands differently knowing how much her family’s life is shifting around Willow’s growing independence. Pink and Hart recently relocated to New York City so Willow can pursue her passion for theater. “She is now finally at the age where she would like to do her own thing. which I think is boring. ” Pink joked to E!. News. “She’s doing the damn thing. She’s in cabarets for charity, she’s in workshops, she just did Carrie the musical, which was dark. She’s killing it. It’s fun to watch. I told her she just has to work hard and be a good person. and show up and be a good teammate and work hard.”.
New York has brought its own kind of excitement for Willow. Pink said, “She’s so happy,” on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Tuesday. “She is Broadway obsessed. she’s extremely earnest. she’s a hard worker and she’s really talented.” Pink also said her daughter was accepted into a performing arts high school. and that Willow even approved of her hosting the 2026 Tony Awards.
“I want to stay out of her lane. She chose a lane that is not mine, and I want to respect it,” Pink explained on Late Night. “But turns out it got her a seat at the Tonys.”
That overlap is what makes the upcoming awards moment feel so personal for Pink. She will emcee the awards show on Sunday, June 7, honoring the best Broadway performances of the year. She leaned into the nerves when she spoke with Seth Meyers, joking that she is “terri-cited” for the big night.
“I mean. I’ll probably fall. but that’s good. ” Pink said. adding that her message to her own audience is simple. “I tell my own audience, ‘If I fall, please laugh so we can move on.’ I’m excited. It’s going to be ridiculous. My one rule was that I have to make fun of myself as soon as I hit the stage. however I hit the stage. and that’s what I’m doing.”.
