Perfect Match Season 4 Ends with Maldives Winners

Perfect Match Season 4 crowned Dave Hand and Sophie Willett as the grand-prize winners, sending them to the Maldives. But despite the chemistry on the show, Dave says they split after the trip and the time difference made staying in touch difficult.
The final minutes of Perfect Match Season 4 weren’t just a goodbye—they were a vote, a decision, and a wrap-up that sent one couple sprinting toward their prize.
By the time the finale landed. the final couples were listed as Ally Lewber and Jimmy Presnell. Marissa Georga and DeMari Davis. Alison Ogden and Jimmy Sotos. Natalie Cruz and Yaman Sanders. and Kayla Richart and Chris Dahlan. along with Dave Hand and Sophie Willett. Kayla took herself out of the running to rematch with Chris Dahlan, who had been previously eliminated. With five couples left after the vote for who should win the grand prize. the winners were revealed: Dave Hand. from Married at First Sight. and Sophie Willett. from Love Is Blind UK.
Their reward wasn’t just a trophy moment—it was a getaway. They won a trip to a destination of their choice, and they chose the Maldives.
In an interview with New Idea, Dave looked back on the trip with a mix of affection and honesty. “I think we’re the only two people who friend-zoned each other in Maldives history,” he said.
He explained that timing gave them more real-world time than the prize schedule usually allows. “We were lucky, we had late flights the next day, so we had a full day to ourselves in Mexico. Everyone was leaving during the day, and we had another 24 hours together. We went out for dinner, walked along the beach, had pina coladas, and it was nice,” Dave said.
Staying connected after the show turned out to be the hardest part. Dave said the time difference made it difficult to keep in touch with Sophie, who lived in Manchester. He described how the momentum they had during the trip faded as life returned to normal. “There were about six or eight weeks until we had our trip to the Maldives and I think when we went back home. the communication was up. the buzz is high and it was just like. what an amazing thing we did. ” he revealed.
Then the reality hit. “Communication dropped off on both of our ends with the time difference and the ocean between us, you know what I mean? It was our lives sort of came back to normal, and you realize ‘oh s–t, this is gonna be difficult.’”
Even after all that time together, they didn’t carry it forward as a couple. Dave said they spent 24 hours together on their getaway before splitting. “I think if it was going to work, it would have worked, but it sort of, it went the way it did, and I’m super glad that we’re close,” he said.
So where does that leave them now? The Maldives win may have looked like the kind of moment made for forever, but in Dave’s telling, the connection didn’t turn into a lasting relationship—after the trip, they went their separate ways.
