Inside. the store feels different in the places people actually notice: where you walk first. where you wait to get help. and where you collect an order you placed online.

Apple’s Passeig de Gracia store reopened with updated interior design that keeps the stone exterior intact. The ground floor is more spacious after the Forum area was removed. and the store’s iconic staircase is now more visible. Under that glass staircase. the new online order pickup area has been set up for customers returning to collect Apple products they’ve ordered online. The pickup zone is easy to spot. with an Apple Store logo on the glass and the word “pickup” displayed beneath it.

That shift changes the store’s everyday rhythm. The pickup area replaces what was previously the store’s video section, which had been known as the Forum. Instead of large groups sitting in front of a screen. information has a new home: customers needing help can now participate in workshops held on the first floor. The Forum area itself has been moved up to the first floor.

The store itself has a long footprint in the city. Opened in 2012. it’s Apple’s second retail location in Barcelona. set inside a historic 32. 000-square-foot five-story building dating back to the 1800s. The building sits near the Mandarin Oriental hotel on one of Barcelona’s most expensive commercial streets.

  1. Apple really said “no more sitting” lol. But why is it under the glass staircase, like is it hidden or what?

  2. Wait so the “Forum” thing is gone? I thought that was like the whole point of the store, people hanging out and watching stuff. Also, pickup area with an Apple logo is just gonna make lines longer right?

  3. I don’t get it, they renovated for months and the biggest change is where you stand to grab a box? The noise reduction flooring sounds nice though, but I feel like Genius Bar being bigger doesn’t matter if everyone’s still waiting forever. Plus it’s open til 9pm which is late for a store in Europe, so maybe it’s just for tourists at the Mandarin Oriental area.
