A man and woman are set to appear in court following the discovery of €620,000 worth of herbal cannabis by authorities at Shannon Airport earlier this week.
A man and woman are due to appear before a court on Wednesday morning after Revenue officers seized cannabis worth an estimated €620,000 at Shannon Airport.. The discovery was made on Monday, May 11, when Revenue officers at Shannon Airport seized approximately 31kg of suspected herbal cannabis as part of an operation targeting drug smuggling.. A man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s were subsequently arrested by Gardaí attached to the Clare
Divisional Drugs Unit.. In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said: “Both were detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in the Clare-Tipperary Division.. “They have since been charged in connection with the investigation and are scheduled to appear before Ennis District Court on Wednesday, May 13 at 10.30am.. “The seized drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis,” the
