Leslie’s moment came in the final minute of regulation. and she said afterward that the achievement carried a weight that doesn’t show up on a stat sheet. “I’m at a loss for words. It’s so special. It’s just an honor to play for my hometown… Nothing compares to how I felt in that moment,” Leslie said after the win. “Our group throughout the whole season has been resilient. We have a no quit attitude and we’ve been battling the ups and downs all season. We believe in our group.”.
This was also the first playoff game-winner of Leslie’s career. She’s been Ottawa’s steady force through the postseason, leading the Charge—which doubles as her hometown team—in both points (6) and goals (4).
