Original Book of Mormon cast returns for 2026 Tonys

year’s Tony Awards included a 10th anniversary performance by the original cast of Hamilton. The Book of Mormon won nine Tony Awards, including best musical. The cast album, released on Ghostlight Records, also won the Grammy for best musical theater album. In keeping with tradition, Broadway’s biggest night will also feature performances from all four nominees for best musical — The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Titaníque and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) — and all three nominees for best revival of a musical
(CATS: The Jellicle Ball, Ragtime and Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show). A release announcing The Book of Mormon performance promised “additional performances will be announced in the coming week.” That is expected to include the announcement of a performance by P!nk, who is likely to sing one or more Broadway songs to establish her credentials as the show’s host. P!nk is the biggest pop star ever to host to the Tonys, though she has yet to perform on Broadway. The American Theatre Wing’s Tony
Awards will broadcast live coast-to-coast on CBS and stream on Paramount+ from 8 to 11 p.m. ET. Prior to the broadcast, Laura Benanti and Tituss Burgess will host The Tony Awards: Act One, a live pre-show that is available to viewers for free on Pluto TV. It will run from 6:35 to 8 p.m. ET. The Tony Awards are produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League. Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall and Jack
Sussman are executive producers of this year’s show. Kapoor and Levine Hall will also serve as co-showrunners.
