Oppo Bubble makes rear-camera selfies thinner, but limited

Oppo Bubble – Oppo has launched Bubble, a thin round screen accessory designed to make rear-camera selfies easier, with live previews, remote controls, and a shutter button. It’s available in China for 499 yuan (about $73), but compatibility is tightly limited to certain Op
A thin. round screen that clips onto a phone might sound like a small upgrade—until you remember how messy rear-camera selfies can be without a proper viewfinder. Oppo is trying to fix that with Bubble. a smartphone accessory built around one idea: let you frame shots using rear cameras. which often have better sensors than front-facing ones.
Bubble launched as a companion to Oppo phones’ rear-camera setups. offering live camera previews on its own AMOLED display so users can actually see what they’re capturing. It also includes remote camera controls and a dedicated shutter button. making the experience feel more like using a mini setup than relying on a timer or guessing angles.
What makes Bubble stand out is its design. Oppo says it’s only seven millimeters thick, and it uses wireless capabilities to operate from nearly 33 feet away. The screen itself is a round AMOLED touchscreen, backed by a 550mAh battery.
Then comes the part that’s likely to frustrate anyone who doesn’t already own the right Oppo models. Oppo hasn’t confirmed whether Bubble will get a global release. Even more limiting. the company hasn’t detailed an estimated battery life. and charging requires plugging in via a USB-C port on the bottom—Bubble doesn’t power up wirelessly when attached to a phone.
Oppo phones that support wireless charging exist, but Bubble doesn’t come with a built-in magnetic ring. If you want to dock it to an Oppo phone, you’ll need a magnetic case. The accessory can also attach directly to devices that have embedded magnets. including iPhones and recent Pixel phones—but Oppo hasn’t opened compatibility broadly. Instead. Bubble is set up to work only with a small assortment of Oppo devices through an accompanying mobile app: Reno 14. Reno 15. and Reno 16. plus the Find X8. Find X9. Find X9 Pro. and Find X9 Ultra.
That narrow list makes the product feel less like an all-phone selfie gadget and more like a curated add-on for a specific ecosystem. Oppo hasn’t announced plans to expand Bubble’s compatibility to devices from other companies.
For now, Bubble is available in China for 499 yuan—about $73—meaning the concept is real and purchasable, even if the invitation is limited.
